Transition Year involves three weeks work experience. Students are encouraged to find work experience in areas that interest them and in areas that can help them build a pathway to a new future career. If possible the student should try to acquire three different work placements. It is very important that students start looking for their work experience during the summer holidays and not leave it until September. Work Experience will take place during the three weeks prior to the February midterm break. The dates for next year are:
Monday 22nd January to Friday 9th February 2024
We provide a number of optional programmes to the students in Transition Year. These may include a trip to an adventure centre, a photography workshop, a driving course, Gael Linn course, Gaeltacht Trip and the Public Access to Law course. Sports coaching courses may also be available.
