Success at the PExpo All-Ireland Championships
What a day it was at the PExpo All-Ireland Championships in the Sports Ireland Campus. Our students did us proud, showcasing their talents, creativity, and passion for sport, health, and science. With 10 outstanding projects representing our school across a wide range of categories, the energy and enthusiasm were truly inspiring. We are delighted to share that three of our projects brought home awards — an incredible achievement that reflects the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of our students:
🏅 Impact of Sleep and Recovery on Physical and Physiological Performance
Lucy O’Brien, Phoebe Mackey, and Aoibhinn Malone explored the essential role of rest and recovery in athletic performance. Their scientific approach and clear presentation earned them well-deserved recognition.
🏅 From Plate to Performance
Molly O’Toole, Gemma Curran, Lilia Cunningham, and Becca Sheehan impressed the judges with their deep dive into nutrition and its impact on sports performance — a thoughtful and informative project that stood out in its category.
🏅 Burn Out Without a Doubt
Lily Russel and Mya Lynch tackled the increasingly relevant topic of burnout in young athletes, bringing awareness and insight to a crucial issue in sport and well-being.
We are proud of all our students who participated, representing our school with such enthusiasm and professionalism. A sincere thank you to their teachers for their support throughout the journey. Here’s to celebrating curiosity, teamwork, and achievement — and looking forward to even more success in the future.
Senior Student Council Represents Loreto Balbriggan at End of Year Event
Senior members of the Student Council took part in the Loreto Student Council End of Year Zoom event this morning, joining students from other Loreto schools to reflect on a busy and productive year. The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to share their achievements, highlight the positive impact of their work within their school communities, and engage in open discussion about the challenges they faced throughout the year. It was a space for learning, collaboration, and inspiration.
Loreto Balbriggan is very proud of the commitment and leadership shown by its Student Council. Their voice and presence continue to play an important role in shaping student life in the school. The Council is already looking ahead to next year, with plans to build on this year’s initiatives and continue organising meaningful and engaging events for the student body.
