Senior A Hockey Team Triumph in Northside Final

It was a beautiful day for hockey last Monday— and an even better day for a brilliant result in the Northside Senior A Final. Huge congratulations to our Senior A Hockey Team, who pulled off a thrilling 4-3 victory over Mount Temple in a match full of drama, determination, and true team spirit. In a nail-biting game that saw three equalisers, our girls held their nerve and fought back each time, with standout goals from Emer Fanning, Nina Callan, and Lucy O’Brien sealing the well-earned win.

The day was also bittersweet, as it marked the final match for our three 6th year players — Isabel Farrell, Ava Martin, and Susan Masterson (Captain). These students have been the heart and soul of Loreto Balbriggan hockey for the past six years, and their leadership, commitment, and passion have left a lasting legacy on and off the pitch. We are incredibly proud of everything they’ve achieved and grateful for all they’ve given to the team.

A big thank you to Mount Temple and the umpires for such a competitive and exciting game — a true showcase of school sport at its best. Well done to everyone involved — what a way to finish the season!

Attendance Poster Competition

Congratulations to Cressida Maclene from 2A, who has been named the winner of our Attendance Drive Poster Competition. Cressida’s creative and eye-catching design impressed the judges and will now be proudly displayed on screens around the school — helping to spread an important message about achieving great attendance.

A big thank you to all the talented students from 1st and 2nd year who took part in the competition. The standard of entries was incredibly high, with so many thoughtful and visually striking posters submitted — it certainly wasn’t an easy task for our judges to choose a winner!
