Rumbek Day
Today, our school came together to celebrate of Loreto Rumbek Day, marked by a school-wide fundraiser and dress-up event that showcased an amazing variety of costumes—both scary and incredibly inventive. Students, staff, and their families all joined the mission to “Buy a Brick” to support the building of a new school in Aweil and we would like to thank them for their enthusiasm and generosity.
Our School of Sanctuary Pledge was collected this morning by our Intercultural Captains and Senior Prefects. The entire student body then gathered on the astro pitch to form “S.SUDAN” for an aerial photo. Despite the wet weather, spirits were high, with everyone participating in this meaningful moment. The festivities continued at lunchtime, where our Gym was transformed into a buzzing disco, complete with a DJ and some wonderfully spooky dance moves from both students and staff! For those looking for alternative fun, there was plenty to enjoy, from games and face painting to a delicious cake sale.
As the day wound down, all 1st-Year students gathered in the Gym for a special assembly, where they each received a care package to take into Midterm. Meanwhile, the rest of the school took part in a lively school-wide quiz, adding some competitive fun to wrap up a truly memorable day.
We would like to wish all our students and staff a very happy Halloween! Enjoy the Midterm break, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, 4th November.
