Midterm Countdown: A Celebration of Trips, Talent and Teamwork

3rd Year Students Explore the Burren on Annual Geography Trip

Last week, over 150 3rd Year students, accompanied by their Geography teachers, set off on their much-anticipated annual trip to the Burren. With the weather on their side and even glimpses of blue skies, students had the incredible opportunity to experience one of Ireland’s most unique landscapes firsthand. The trip provided students with an in-depth look at the Burren’s fascinating limestone terrain, diverse flora, and rich historical significance. A highlight of the trip was the visit to the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher. The trip reinforced key geographical concepts learned in class and allowed students to see their studies come to life. Overall, the trip was both educational and enjoyable, leaving students with a newfound appreciation for Ireland’s remarkable natural heritage. A big thank you to the Geography teachers for organising such a memorable and enriching learning experience.

TY JPIC Students Visit Irish Aid

The TY Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) module took part in an inspiring and thought-provoking workshop during their visit to Irish Aid this week. The session provided students with a deeper understanding of Ireland’s role in global development, the significance of humanitarian aid, and the actions we can take to create a more just and sustainable world. Throughout the workshop, students engaged in discussions and interactive activities that highlighted key global challenges such as poverty, inequality, and climate change. The Irish Aid team shared insights into their work supporting communities in developing countries and responding to humanitarian crises. This experience helped students appreciate the impact of international cooperation and Ireland’s commitment to making a difference on a global scale.

One of the most impactful aspects of the visit was learning how young people can contribute to positive change. The session encouraged students to reflect on their own role as global citizens and consider practical ways to support sustainable development—whether through advocacy, responsible consumption, or community engagement. A huge thank you to the dedicated team at Irish Aid for their time, expertise, and encouragement. The TY JPIC students left feeling inspired and motivated to play an active role in building a fairer and more sustainable world.
