Loreto Balbriggan at North Leinster Cross Country Event
Our Junior and Senior athletes had a fantastic day at the North Leinster Cross Country event on Wednesday 29th January in the Phoenix Park, with a record 41 students from Loreto Balbriggan competing. Our Minor Girls Team, made up entirely of 1st-year students, Saoirse Malone, Aimee Singleton, Kathlyn Keenan, Grace Kelly, Alexa Holland, Kathleen O Donnell, Ellen O Neill and Emma Vanstone, delivered an outstanding performance, securing 2nd place overall and earning silver for Loreto Balbriggan. Their hard work and determination have paid off, and they are now through to the Leinster competition, which will take place on February 12th.
A special congratulations to Saoirse, who placed 8th out of 110 athletes—an incredible achievement. Other students who placed in the top 25 in their respective races include Ashley Guinan, who finished 18th in the Senior Girls category, and Clodagh Meehan, who came 23rd in the Junior Girls.
A huge well done to everyone who competed. It was a truly memorable day for Loreto Balbriggan athletics.
