Junior Hockey Team Victory in Leinster Final
What an incredible win for our Junior Hockey team in their Leinster final against St. Columba’s College. Hosted at the fantastic Three Rock Rovers Hockey Club, the match showcased the skill, determination, and teamwork of our players, culminating in a well-earned 3-1 victory. From the first whistle to the final moments, our team played with unwavering intensity, led by the Team Captain, Shona McCann. Goals from the unstoppable Sophia Folco, who netted twice, and the talented Gabrielle Gallagher, sealed the win.
This victory is not just about the match itself—it’s a testament to the hard work and dedication of these players. Braving the cold and dark Thursday mornings for training, balancing school commitments with club training and matches, their effort and passion for the sport are truly commendable. This win marks the highest division ever claimed by a junior team in our school, a phenomenal achievement that is so thoroughly deserved.
But the journey doesn’t stop here! With no time to rest, the girls now set their sights on securing victory in their Northside League final. We have no doubt they will bring the same energy and determination to their next challenge.
A huge thank you to Leinster Hockey and Three Rock Rovers for hosting a brilliant league. A special shout-out to dedicated coach, Anthony Glutz, and Portrane Hockey Club for all their support.
Congratulations again to our Junior Hockey team—what a season, and what a team!
