An Eventful Week

On Monday, 16th September, our 5th and 6th Year Student Leadership Team  received their leadership badges, marking a significant moment in their journey as student leaders. At our school, student voice and leadership are integral to our ethos, empowering students to become active and responsible citizens of the 21st century. We believe in nurturing our students as agents of change, equipping them with the skills, confidence, and sense of responsibility needed to make a positive impact both during their time at school and beyond.

Information Evening 2024

Our student leaders played an active role in our Information Evening on Tuesday, 17th September, by providing guided tours of our school campus throughout the event. They were joined by students from all year groups, including members of our Student Council, to proudly showcase the extensive curricular provision and wide range of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, both sporting and non-sporting, available at Loreto Balbriggan. Their enthusiasm and dedication highlighted the vibrant community and diverse opportunities that we provide. It was fantastic to see such a great turnout of prospective students and their families, and we were delighted to share what makes our school community so special.

Art Exhibition 2024

The annual Art Exhibition also took place on Tuesday 17th September which shocased samples of work from every art student in the school. The aim of art education in Loreto is to produce dynamic, creative and skillful young people who can confidently use what they have learned including research, idea development and reflective practice. These skills are transferable into many rewarding professions. We would like to congratulate all the art students, the art teachers Ms. Bailey, Ms. Lennon and Mr. Kilgarrif on yet another wonderful and inspiring exhibition.

CSPE Trip to Leinster House

3C had a thoroughly enjoyable and informative visit to Leinster House as part of their Civic, Social, and Political Education (CSPE) coursework. The trip provided students with a unique opportunity to experience the heart of Irish democracy and gain a deeper understanding of the workings of the Houses of the Oireachtas. A special thank you to Conor Reale, Parliamentary Education Officer, for his engaging and insightful workshop, which brought the legislative process to life. Students learned about the roles of the Dáil and Seanad, the importance of active citizenship, and the day-to-day responsibilities of our elected representatives. This hands-on learning experience helped students connect classroom theory with real-world political structures and further sparked their interest in civic participation.
