Celebrating Our SciFest Champions: Emmalise O’Boyle and Cara Mullen

We are thrilled to congratulate Emmalise O’Boyle and Cara Mullen on their remarkable achievement at this year’s SciFest. Their outstanding project, which explored the effect of microplastics on plant root growth and nutrient uptake, earned them not one, but two prestigious awards: the SciFest STEM Award and the SciFest Life Sciences Award. This incredible accomplishment places them among the top 62 students out of an astounding 15,000 participants nationwide—a true testament to their innovation, dedication, and the quality of their scientific work. Their success reflects not only their hard work and passion but also the long-standing tradition of scientific excellence at our school. Over the years, our students have consistently demonstrated their talent and commitment to advancing knowledge and addressing real-world challenges, and Emmalise and Cara are the latest to add to this proud legacy.

Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, and we look forward to seeing how this legacy continues to grow.
