Music Week

This week we are celebrating Music Week with a range of performances by our talented student musicians. Throughout the week, there are pop-up concerts in various locations, with performances from both the Senior and Junior Choirs as well as soloists and ensembles. These events take place between classes, during break, and at lunchtime, offering a chance to hear a variety of musical styles as students showcase their skills. In addition to the choir performances, the TY Samba group will be bringing their energetic rhythms to the halls, adding a lively atmosphere to the week. This celebration of music highlights the diversity of talent among our students and gives the entire school community a chance to enjoy these spontaneous musical moments.

On Tuesday, our Junior and Senior Music students had the incredible opportunity to attend a special performance and Q&A session with two of our talented alumni, Farah Elle and Katie Phelan. Both artists have achieved remarkable success in their musical careers, and they returned to share their experiences, wisdom, and talent with our current students. During the Q&A session, students asked insightful questions about the realities of pursuing a career in music. Farah and Katie were generous with their advice, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, creativity, and staying true to oneself as an artist. They also shared their experiences of navigating the music industry, from performing to recording, and the challenges they faced along the way. The session left students feeling inspired, motivated, and more connected to the possibilities that lie ahead for them in the world of music.
