Celebrating Strengths and Success

Dyslexia Awareness Week

Last week, our school participated in Dyslexia Awareness Week, an initiative to deepen understanding and celebrate the unique strengths and talents that people with dyslexia bring to our community. Throughout the week, students engaged in various activities, from competitions to classroom discussions, all aimed at raising awareness about dyslexia.

In our form classes, students watched an inspiring presentation and video that highlighted how dyslexia affects individuals differently and the powerful advantages it can offer. They discovered new insights, including how dyslexia fosters skills like creative problem-solving, reasoning, and visualization—abilities that are becoming increasingly valuable in today’s world. These strengths not only enhance personal growth but also open up exciting career opportunities for people with dyslexia. Dyslexia Awareness Week reminded us of the importance of embracing diversity in learning styles and celebrating the strengths that make each of us unique. We are proud to be a community that values and supports every student’s journey.

Loreto Swimming Gala

Well done to all students from First to Sixth Year who represented our school with pride at the Loreto Swimming Gala in the National Aquatic Centre yesterday. While we were a bit unlucky this time, with some narrowly students missing a spot on the podium, each swimmer showed outstanding commitment and skill. Our students remembered our beloved student, Rafaella Costin, by raising the Memorial Flag, a symbol of the lasting impact she has had on our school community

Senior Debating

Yesterday evening, two of our senior debaters, accompanied by enthusiastic supporters, took part in another exciting round of the Leinster Schools Debate Competition, held at Trinity College Dublin. The topic for the night—whether rehabilitation should be the sole focus of the criminal justice system—sparked thought-provoking arguments and showcased the impressive critical thinking skills of our students. Our team delivered compelling speeches, skillfully defending their stance on the importance of rehabilitation in creating a more just and compassionate society. Their arguments highlighted not only their dedication to understanding complex societal issues but also their commitment to respectful debate and persuasive communication.
