Mary Ward Week
This week we celebrated Mary Ward Week 2024 combined with Catholic Schools Week in Loreto Balbriggan. A very special week as we took some time to reflect and remember the marvellous work of Mary Ward, our founder. The Ember team led the week with daily reflections on Mary Ward and used the Catholic Schools Week theme of service in their daily prayers. We celebrated the week through our Mary Ward Poster Competition, Exam Prayers for the 6th Years, A ‘Mary Ward Assembly’ for the 1st Years and most importantly we were joined for tea and cake by our Loreto Sisters from the Convent who embody everything that Mary Ward was about through their vocations. We were reminded by the Ember Team this morning that we can all learn from Mary Ward’s story, that faith allows us to see the invisible, believe the unbelievable and achieve what others think is impossible and in Mary Ward’s own words, ‘Be seekers of Truth and doers of Justice.
